For the holidays, bar owner Charles Armstrong
donated a total of $12,000 to 12 organizations:
AIDS Foundation Houston, The Assistance Fund,
AssistHers, AVES (Amigos Volunteers in Education
and Services), Bering Omega Community Services,
Center for AIDS, H.A.T.C.H., Houston Buyers Club,
Montrose Clinic, Montrose Counseling Center, Q-Patrol,
and S.N.A.P. (Spay-Neuter Assistance Program).
Joe Watts and his Theatre New West presented an
October 23 preview performance of The Stops that
benefited Maranatha Metropolitan Community Church.
Then on December 3 his company gave a benefit
show of Reindeer Monologues for the Center for
AIDS.

Our January cover girl Shaunte Angelo, one of
our People to Watch 2004, will host launch parties
for the new h.e.r.s. magazine on February 7 at
Meteor and February 8 at Chances. Enjoy go-go
dancers at the first event and a viewing of The
L Word at the second. On February 27, Angelo and
staff will host the GoGirlsRock concert at the
Rhythm Room.
The musical duo Jason & deMarco will perform
tunes from their new CD Spirit Pop at a February
8 concert at Resurrection Metropolitan Community
Church.
In December, Daniela Parker and Marquitta Parker,
the lovely daughters of Annise Parker, our new
controller, and tax whiz Kathy Hubbard, decorated
the holiday tree at the Houston GLBT Community
Center. Center volunteer Clint Hudson joined in
the holiday decorating.
At press time, we learned that Tom Fricke has
sold the Lovett Inn to Dan Lueken and Todd Partridge.
Partridge called to report that he will move the
offices of his Partridge Properties into the historic
residence. He and Lueken plan to maintain the
bed-and-breakfast tradition at the 12-room hostelry.
Fricke has not announced his post-innkeeper plans.
