Freaky Lynx:
Loren McLaughlin (aka) Draconis (aka) Jugular Jaguar (aka) Calamity Cougar: 03/03/1960 - 06/19/2021

Draconis had many memorable characters, chief among them was [Bad username: calamitycougar]. I remember him in fursuit sitting in a lawn chair in the lobby of the old Midwest FurFest hotel fishing in the koi pond. Or years later when he was the mc and still in character for the End of the World Con/FurryCon up in Rochester.

The first time IĠd heard of Draconis was when he was mainly known as [Bad username: jugularjaguar] at my second ever furry convention Mephit FurMeet 2003. Apparently he developed a tradition of being thrown in the hotel pool while in suit.

Have a few other memories of our paths crossing over the years but IĠd never gotten to know him much at all. But still, he was an amazing performer in costume and certainly an inspiration for many fursuiters. Very sad to hear of his passing :(

http://wildnights.org/staff Furry Drama Show Hi I am Draconis, a recovering character Performer. I have been active in the fandom since 2001 and have not been able to quit as every year I have been on staff serving in some role or another. I have worked nearly all parts of any convention Anime, Sci Fi, gaming and up to being a con chair for a couple of years. As a performer and fursuiter I am all about performing outside when ever I can as it makes for a better experience then say hotel conventions where you are somewhat limited in your surroundings. I have been a professional mascot for a local raceway and look to entertain folks whenever I can with either the variety show or performing just by myself. I hope to get a chance to talk to you during the con assuming you read this before the con is over!
https://en.wikifur.com/wiki/Draconis Draconis had been active in the fandom since 2001. he had organized variety shows and fursuit parades at conventions, and he was on staff of Rocket City FurMeet, Oklacon, Wild Nights and Furry Fiesta. At Wild Nights 2011, Draconis served as Events and Promotions Director.[1] As of 2013, Draconis had worked at Furry Fiesta for every year since Furry Fiesta 2010, putting together the variety show, now known as the Furry Drama show.[2] In 2012, Draconis was a guest of honor at both F3 Convention and Fangcon, and at AnthrOhio on 2017. Out of multiple stunts Draconis had pulled at cons, probably the most well known are the "Bell of Annoyance" (which helped to raise MFM's contributions to Tiger Haven charity), and "Dunk The Jaguar" (the right to throw JJ into the Rocket City FurMeet hotel pool, which was auctioned off for the benefit of the charity). At Midwest FurFest 2005, Draconis was responsible for a petition to "change the MFF mascot to anything but a raccoon", for which he was duly chastised at the variety show. Fursuit[edit] Jugular Jaguar was Draconis most famous fursuit that has been spotted at almost all major furcons in the Eastern US. JJ often carried around a Magna Doodle¨ board which he used to communicate with the audience, if necessary. Calamity Cougar suit was also quite popular as he used it in most of his variety show skits and walking around interacting with others in the hotel halls using his character's bayou voice. He did a parody of Epic Rap Battles versing against Rhubarb The Bear and featuring Bucktown Tiger, calling it "Epic Rap Battles of Furstory". He was creative, energetic, and one of the most tenacious driving forces in the fandom. His antics brought joy to thousands of furs through the many conventions he was involved with. He will be greatly missed.

https://www.furaffinity.net/user/furrydramashow/ The Furry Drama Show started at Wild Nights, Robber Cave State Park that was our first show. We later did RCFM in Huntsville, AL with Wilfred Brimley hosting that show. On to Oklacon, in Roman Nose State Park our disaster of a show there. It happens and the audience loves it apparently. Just a week later we were at Fangcon Nashville TN for their inaugural year, Next was F-3 Springfield MO for their first year also. Our last show of our season was Furry Fiesta where we finally had everything to go right and better than we thought it would. We had 6 shows in our season. We are no Dog and Pony show! We are always looking to improve our show so if you would like to be a part of this staged chaos send us a video, or be a part of a skit. Hey make up your own skit also. We would love to have you join us. The FDS has it's history going back to the 70's being a part Scout came shows and doing those. Later being in Walt Disney World Shows. in the 2000's we in shows at MFF, MFM, Megaplex, AC, and had it birth a bit at FWA. But if we are going to give credit to where this all started it would be at RCFM 2003 where they needed someone to run their show so we did. This happened again at Oklacon where that show has run since 2007. Then on to Furry Furry Fiesta where they too wanted to have a show but it fell through so the next year of the con we got it going again. It got so big there had to be two shows and that is when the idea of the name of the Furry Drama Show was born. We have videos sent to us from the UK, Texas, Kansas, Oklahoma and we are always welcoming more performers to join us also. So step up into the stage lights and see what you are missing
https://twitter.com/SeaWolfFan/status/1406326621892538371 RIP Jugular Jaguar/Draconis/ @Calamitycougar . We met at the first at @furrycruise in 2005. I loved how well he could imitate accents from a bunch of different states. Really fun guy to hang out with. Haven't seen him in years. Gonna miss him.
https://jugularjaguar.livejournal.com How I became a Fursuiter [Jul. 10th, 2018|11:56 pm] People see fursuiters and decide they want to do that also. I never saw furries till much later, like over a decade later. I saw the Disney characters at Walt Disney World where I worked for like 16 years, Now being a character looked like fun so I wanted to see if I could do it. I asked in the character dept and they said yes. So I came in for my day of being a character. I got to be Gideon from the movie Pinnochio https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bpjk9IJfmUo Back then he was a taller character unlike today where he is chipmunk in heighth I really did not get any training, just go out on set for 30 minutes and come back in for 30 for break. I did this for 8 hours for one day, I had a blast, enough so, I got permission and did it for another day later. A few years went by and I was able to do a dept transfer for a year for the park was celebrating it's 10th year of being open and I was able to be cast in a role of the Tencennial Parade. A year long and a smile wide. It was a great year.
