SKYPILOT'S MONTHLY ONE-ACTS
THE ÆSOP PROJECT EIGHT SHORT THEATRICAL FABLES FOR 'TWEEN AUDIENCES by The SkyPilot playwrights: Dave Ulrich, Samantha Macher, Liz Shannon Miller, Dominic Mishler, Mike Rothschild, Nicole B. Adkins, Adam Hahn, and Jeff Goode. Cupcake bullies, tween warriors, and apocalyptic yellow butterfly people... there is something for every pre-teen (or pre-teen at heart) in this innovative offering!The Aesop Project is a brand new collection of 8 short plays by SkyPilot resident company professional playwrights based on lesser-known Aesop's fables, and designed to compliment the California Education Standards for grade 6, which includes study of Aesop as a part of Greek History. We have also designed a study guide to go along with the production. This program was developed in response to the limited quantity of professional theatre performances specifically designed for pre-teen and middle school students. The play runs 45-50 minutes, and will be available for bookings beginning Fall of the 2012-2013 school year.
FREE PREVIEW PERFORMANCE AND EDUCATOR APPRECIATION RECEPTION: Organized to give the public a first look at this unique programming opportunity. The performance will be followed by a milk and cookies reception to show our appreciation for your attendance!
Please bring any and all teachers/school administrators you know. They will have first priority on our 2012-2013 touring schedule, the chance to sign up for our mailing list, and to preview our study guide. As we are designing this program with the students' needs in mind, we will welcome comments and suggestions on our post-show response form. We would also love to see audience members the target age of our programming (ages 10-14). So please bring them and gauge their responses! This performance is being directed by DTASC and SkyPilot member Lois Weiss.
