The Round World is excited to venture into the world of podcasts with Tales from the Round World, radio plays done live with Foley in front of an audience and recorded to be podcast later. The live performances will feature some of the DMV's top playwrights and performers with variety artists as our "commercial breaks". Each show will be raising money for a nonprofit organization doing important work in DC and around the world.

Our first show will be Calls to the Alien Crime Hotline in response to 45's alien crime hotline. Message from Chris Griffin: ALSO bringing Hope Operas back with new name and new format. Tales from the Round World will be radio plays done live with foley in front of an audience, recorded and podcast later. We've got our first one coming up on July 7 - Calls to the Alien Crime Hotline which will be one- to four-minute monologues about extraterrestrial crime in response to 45's alien crime hotline trying to get folks to narc out their brown neighbors. We're benefitting www.mlovdc.org Would you be interested in writing a monologue for this? Also would you be interested in writing a radio play for later episodes. Future format will be two 35- 50 minute plays per night with two beneficiaries. "Commercial breaks" will be variety acts. Lemmee know! xo CG

In this episode: An animal rescuer encounters a big orange blob with tiny grabby hands in "Grrrbbim". A man tries to find his missing anal probe in "Speak English God Damn It". A resident of Lickskillet TN is pretty sure aliens are using mind control to make him order things on Amazon in "The Drones Are Coming" and a party girl wonders if getting pregnant by aliens counts as a pre-existing condition in "Brunch Bitch and White Sangria".

In this episode a mother-to-be questions her life decisions and why her belly grows at night while seeking a little help from the government in "Lithium Ion Baby". A new mother is literally being eaten out of house and home in "Bundle of Joy". Cultural over-sensitivity isn't just for Earthlings anymore in "It isn't Easy Being Green" and a man just wants his noisy, 8-armed neighbors to keep it down in "Pool Party".
