"Acting Up - a Potpourri of One-Act Plays and Improv Games" will be presented Friday, April 4 and Saturday, April 5 at 7:30 and Sunday April 6 at 2:30 in the Bob Roach Little Theatre in Strahan Hall on the campus of Muscatine Community College, 152 Colorado Street, Muscatine. The show is a production of Pearl City Players and MCC's Fine Arts Department. Rage Theatrics, a stage combat troupe from Iowa City, will join in with a one-act play from their recent production of "Hero Stories".

After comedy has been outlawed in society, two bottom-of-the-barrel comics face trial for committing comedy, along with the young woman who broke the law by laughing at them. Confronted by a stern lady magistrate, they discover humor is no laughing matter.

Two men meet in Central Park, one is neat, ordered, well-to-do and conventional, the other is a young unkempt vagrant. He is drained of all hope and seeks to bring his new acquaintance down to his level of despair.

"Constable Dogberry Saves a Hero" from "Much Ado about Nothing" by William Shakespeare
Directed by Matt Moody
Dogberry is the bumbling Constable of Messina. He and his partner Verges must save the reputation of the Governor's daughter despite their extraordinary lack of sense. They end up being in the wrong place at the right time. Or is it the other way around?
