North Clackamas excels at state thespian festival
Drama students from three North Clackamas High Schools made a strong showing at the state thespian festival.
Milwaukie High's production, The Secret Garden, was chosen as one of three plays performed for the state showcase.
Clackamas High won the top prize in Large Group Musical for their performance of "Hello" from the Book of Mormon. They also took first place in Small Group Musical for their rendition of "Catch Me, I'm Falling."
Rex Putnam students Emily Gassaway and Maddie Kitzmiller took first place for Duo Comic Acting for their performance of "The Audition" by Jeff Goode. In addition, senior Lauren Betschart was honored for Costume Design and Theater Marketing; Wyatt Strand won in Makeup Design; and Pyramid Effect won in Freestyle One-Acts. The Rex Putnam department was recognized as State Honor Troupe.
