Christmas often enters the realms of sublime merriment and blatant commercialism, but Goode's Reindeer drive it head-on into the absurd. The Eight (yup, actors with antlers) don't spread candy cane coated stories of Christmas cheer; they tell a tale of scandalous allegations against Saint Nick himself. This twisted satire is not only brazenly funny, it cleverly considers the dysfunctional ways in which society deals with unmentionable subjects. In the process, it distorts Christmas beyond recognition - but a few minutes in any department store will soon fix that.

A totally irreverent and absolutely hilarious expose of Santa Claus and his famous reindeer. The eight (Rudolph doesn't count-but boy do they all have opinions about THAT!) are the famous reindeer of old who finally, due to a possible sexual harassment law suit by Vixen against Santa, are all finally driven to tell their stories of abuse, jealousy, sex, drugs, drunken orgies, homosexuality, and a frightening Mrs. Clause. Being a reindeer isn't at all what you thought it was.....Prepare to fall out of your seat laughing at this holiday treat-SOL style!

You don't have to be Scrooge to love the Band of Brother's presentation of "The Eight: Reindeer Monologues," a devious take on Christmas in a politically correct world. If you thought that Rudolph the red-nosed was the last word on the North Pole, by all means hitch up your sleigh and head to our Warehouse...But leave the kiddies at home: This wicked send up from the Band of Brothers, is an adults-only offering in which the cheer served up is more Bronx than Christmas

Produced by Steve Noll and StageQ Artistic Director Thomas McClurg, the show will be directed by Karen Saari-Paschke, who performed in the previous production of the show. The Eight is sure to impress once again.

"Be Naughty or Nice" 4th Annual Reindeer Monologues

The performances were put on by AU's performance troupe called The Rude Mechanicals. The picture features Thom Ferlisi, a senior in the College of Arts and Sciences as Cupid, known in the show as the openly gay reindeer; Justin Mushnick as Dasher and Erica LeMaster as Blitzen. The Eight Reindeer Monologues were directed by Eric Jost, a senior in the College of Arts and Sciences majoring in Anthropology. Its purpose is to raise awareness about sexual assault. In the monologues, each of the reindeer gives his or her take on the accusation that Santa raped Vixen. All of the performances this weekend were dedicated in loving memory of Chris Salazar, the former Class of 2005 president who died last month in an accident at his Northwest D.C. apartment.

We're bringing back "The Eight: Reindeer Monologues" by Jeff Goode for our late night Christmas show that starts at 10:30pm . And hey kids, this Christmas show is for adults only...cause.. "When a doe says "no", she means "no".

Random Acts of Theater at the Triangle Theater is producing the third in its series of popular cabarets. The HOLIDAY CABARET will feature excerpts from Christopher Durang's "Mrs. Bob Cratchit's Wild Christmas Binge" and Jeff Goode's "The Eight: Reindeer Monologues" (reprising the popular production of Goode's piece that played at the Triangle in December 2002). The bill will also include holiday songs from the Triangle Singers, original monologues and the fabulous Goldi Blondell from New York City by way of Louisiana.
