Unfortunately, BCKSEET is not doing The Eight this year as was previously planned. It's good to know that people are asking for it, and hopefully we can bring it back on our production calendar for next season!

Love your play! Planning on weekend before Christmas and weekend of Xmas in Miami, FL...Baker's Plays in LA couldn't tell us whether anyone else in the area was producing in that time period.

They suggested I write you...Hmmmmmmm? Any ideas?

We are planning a weekend of holiday readings – music stands and chairs in a lovely recital hall that seats 100 – and will be charging $8-10 for theatre-goers to come and hear some of the holiday "classics." One of the pieces that I am interested in sharing is a reading of THE EIGHT: REINDEER MONOLOGUES.

(Columbia, MD) – For theatergoers looking for unique fare this holiday season, Rep Stage has just the ticket. Michael Stebbins, Rep Stage’s producing artistic director, will bring to life -- with simply a chair, music stand, and bottle of water -- three holiday short stories by American humorist David Sedaris on December 18, 19 and 20 in the Monteabaro Recital Hall at Howard Community College (HCC). “Holiday Readings (With Some Surprise Packages)* - * = some adult humor” features Stebbins reading “Based Upon a True Story,” “Front Row Center with Thaddeus Bristol” and “Season’s Greetings to Our Friends and Family!!!" In the spirit of Sedaris and the holidays, door prizes will also be handed out to the most “festively” dressed audience members. Patrons wearing elf slippers, glowing red noses, and sweaters featuring full macramé snow scenes will be rewarded with t-shirts, mugs, holiday cards and more. Performance times are 8 p.m. on December 18; 2 p.m. and 8 p.m. on December 19; and 2 p.m. on December 20. A dark, dark Christmas comedy. Scandal erupts at the North Pole when one of Santa's eight tiny reindeer accuses him of sexual harassment.

As mass media descends upon the event, the other members of the sleigh team demand to share their perspectives, and a horrific tale of corruption and perversion emerges, which seems to implicate everyone from the littlest elf to the tainted Saint himself.

With each deer's confession, the truth behind the shocking allegations becomes clearer and clearer. …and murkier and murkier.

Both groups have been licensed. Pork in the Beans is actually licensed for four shows, Dec 4-18 in four different area theaters; so they may show up on your radar three more times.

We wrap up our season with Happy Ending 3. Look forward to next season with "The Worst Show You'll Ever See", "The Shortbus Sketches", "The 8 Reindeer Monologues", "An Intimate Evening with Craigslist" and a TBA improv show.

"Advance on London Fringe" received 2/28/10 thru Sam French London

This appears to have been an umbrella group's way of paying for the Nov 2-28, 2010 production at Above the Stag Theatre in London

Samuel French Ltd., on behalf of our American head office Samuel French Inc., have been dealing with an application for a production of your play THE EIGHT: REINDEER MONOLOGUES for which we were all set to license this Christmas 2009.

I have now been advised that they are now in discussions with The Union Theatre (studio size capacity 100-150) in South-East London for a 4-week run to commence December 2010.

Hello Jeff, Do you know if Ann Marie is still in Oregon? Anyone ask for "The 8" in Portland for XMAS '09? Anyone doing it here this year? No, I don't want to direct it this year, not enough time. But I'm thinking seriously on next year. If Ann Marie was still around, I'd like to talk with her early because she was interested in switching roles and I want to know if she's still game.
