A dark, dark Christmas comedy. Scandal erupts at the North Pole when one of Santa's eight tiny reindeer accuses him of sexual harassment. As mass media descends upon the event, the other members of the sleigh team demand to share their perspectives, and a horrific tale of corruption and perversion emerges, which seems to implicate everyone from the littlest elf to the tainted Saint himself. With each deer's confession, the truth behind the shocking allegations becomes clearer and clearer...and murkier and murkier

The Eight: Reindeer Monologues, a comedy by Jeff Goode, is a show that will not only make you question your belief in Santa Claus, but also make you wonder how no one has found his nature to be somewhat questionable before. In this monologue show you will see each reindeer, and hear their story on the allegations being brought up on St. Nick. Since the sun doesn't shine as much at the North Pole near Christmas time, you will get to see the shady side of the holiday hang out.The set has been adapted for a smaller venue, as we see the reindeer bare all in front of a camera for "millions of anxious viewers", watching Channel 12 News KCWA. Think of it as, "The Real World" meets "The Island of Misfit Toys". There is mature content, so viewer discretion is advised. Not for children under 17, unless accompanied by a parent.
The show runs Wednesday, November 16th through Friday, November 18 and all shows at 6 p.m.. Tickets are $5 for general admission. The show will be in Room 309 of the Performing Arts Center(PAC) at Crafton Hills College.
Proceeds go to the Crafton Hills Arts League to make it possible to plan more occasions for us to entertain you in the future. There will be concessions before the show, and donations are ALWAYS appreciated. Hope to see you there. Doors open at 5:30 pm. Limited seating available, so please arrive early to ensure your seat.

What the heck is going on at the North Pole? The reindeer mad as hell and are talking! Allegations of sexual misconduct! What happened to Rudolph? Is Mrs. Claus out of control? What is Santa's role in all this? Find out what has really been going on up there! But leave the kids at home! They can't handle the truth! This play is filled with hilarity! Back for its 8th year! Christmas gets very naughty! Our favorite team of reindeer still have plenty to say! Accusations, rumors and all-out attacks are flying fast and furious around Santa’s toyshop this holiday season. Go behind the tinsel and hear the truth about Santa straight from the eight reindeer who know him best. When a doe says "No", she means "No Way, Sucka!" This production contains foul-mouthed reindeer and is definitely not suitable for kids!

Jeff Goode's THE EIGHT: REINDEER MONOLOGUES comes to The Lex Theatre this holiday season. Not everything is merry at the North Pole. Rudolph is in a padded cell, Santa is on a bender, and the reindeer are talking to anyone who'll listen in Jeff Goode's hilarious, spicy, dark-chocolate holiday confection. In this tart alternative to the usual sugar-coated holiday fare, scandal erupts at the North Pole when one of Santa's eight tiny reindeer accuses him of decidedly un-Christmas-like behavior. As the media descends, the other members of the elite sleigh team share their articulate (and sometimes sordid) confessions. A tale of corruption and perversion emerges, which seems to involve everyone from the littlest elf to Saint Nick himself. Directed by The Production Company's artistic director, August Viverito, and featuring the ultimate elite team of Lane Allison, Jay Blair, Margaret Dwyer, Daniel Halden, Jim Hanna, Skip Pipo, T L Kolman and CB Spencer, with production stage manager Judy Nazemetz, this is sure to be one helluva sleigh ride! If panto’s not your bag, then check out Jeff Goode’s Reindeer Monologues at The Lion in Stoke Newington for a Christmas show with a difference. This seasonal expose is definitely not one to take the kids to! With “Santa” in the hot seat and Christmas on the line, his eight reindeers are called to bear witness to some of the most sordid events in North Pole history. A raft of emerging talent, including five actors from the 2011 Old Vic New Voices team, will perform a funny but poignant series of monologues that tackle the abuse of power and the vexed question of whether to keep misdemeanors under wraps for the greater good. “It is not your normal sort of Christmas entertainment, this is a cynical take on it which raises some very relevant questions at the moment,” says producer and performer Mattie Crowley. “Pantomime is a great British tradition and long may it last, but it dominates the theatre at this time of year. We are offering an alternative it is deeper, darker – but every bit as fun,” he says. It is being directed by TV writer and performer Iestyn Edwards , better known as Channel 4s Madame Gallina, the Prima Ballerina, who sang to The Queen and entertained British troops in Iraq and Afghanistan. The Lion Pub in Church Street, Stoke Newington is emerging as one of London’s most exciting new fringe venues. In the past year it has hosted Marc Sherman’s Things We Want, Flaming Bodies by Sno Wilson and Shakespeare’s Measure for Measure. The Reindeer Monologues are being performed every Tuesday and Wednesday in the run up to Christmas starting December 6.

When the jolliest elf in the North Pole is accused of un-Christmas like conduct a media frenzy ensues. Hear what Dasher, Hollywood, Blitzen and the rest of the elite team of The Eight most famous Reindeer have to say about the accusations involving Santa and his less than jolly behavior, what Mrs. Claus is like at the annual holiday party and what really happened that foggy night with Rudolph. The Eight: Reindeer Monologues takes the traditional myth of Santa and his flying reindeer and combines it with the modern day voyeurism and vulture like behavior of the media and its consumers. The concept of the play allows us to laugh at the absurdity of reindeer making brutal accusations of a man held in the highest esteem. Yet when you take away the antlers what playwright, Jeff Goode, has given the audience is a bold statement regarding politics, gender roles and every other major hot button topic with which this contemporary, media-saturated society is obsessed.

This isn't the Santa you’ve come to know and love. But don’t take our word for it; come hear it straight from the, er, Reindeers’ mouths. All those rumors about him and the elves? And Rudolph’s little secret? And Vixen’s scandalous story? Yes, the reindeer finally speak up -- and they don't hold back! This is a no-hooves-barred, reinless romp through the North Pole, as each of “The Eight” takes a turn on the stage to tell their own side of the story. This dark, adult comedy will have you rolling in the aisles during the show, and discussing the topical issues it stirs up over drinks later.
A cross between Scrooged and The Accused, THE EIGHT offers a Christmas alternative to those adults looking for something just a little different, and a lot more grown up, this holiday season as the eight reindeers who pull Santa’s sleigh every year are called to bear witness to the reputation and innocence (or not) of their employer. On paper, this is a frightfully cynical exercise in besmirching the reputation of the jolly fat man in the red suit. In performance, it is a series of eight very hysterical and very poignant monologues that aim to explore the nature of cover-ups, and which bring into question the value of speaking out when remaining silent might be better for the greater good.

The Pack is BACK!
Daisy's Madhouse presents Jeff Goode's irreverent holiday alternative, The Eight: Reindeer monologues!
Sex? Lies? Santa? Disenchanted with the usual sugar-coated holiday entertainment? Tired of the same old, traditional shows that push enough good cheer and uplifting, seasonal sweetness to send most of the Treasure Valley to the hospital in a diabetic seizure? This December, Daisy's Madhouse offers audiences a hysterical alternative with Jeff Goode's acerbic play, The Eight: Reindeer Monologues.
This dark Christmas comedy sheds new light on Santa and his eight reindeer.
With each deer's confession, the truth behind the shocking allegations becomes clearer and clearer...and murkier and murkier. Santa is NO saint! He is an exploitative micro-manager, an abusive husband and a sexual deviant with a penchant for young venison. And forget happy elves and cute smiling reindeer; think instead of Rudolph in a padded stall; Cupid as a gay toy boy and Vixen as a doe with a tale to tell. The Eight: Reindeer Monologues is coarse, witty, vulgar and crude Christmas indulgence! You'll never look at Santa the same way again!
