As the Artistic Director of an arts summer festival for students, I am looking for plays that will first teach the students and then entertain the audience. Over the last two years, the students proudly presented these UBU's. While making many entrances or exits through the audience onto the colorful fantasy stage sets wearing flamboyant costumes, these young actors had everyone in stitches. There were many levels of understanding for all audiences.....something for everyone.
Our students found the play challenging........from understanding underlying political content, to learning fast-paced improvisation or to the art of letting go of inhibitions.....all the while having infectious fun. After UBU, the cast couldn't wait for UBU Two the next year. And now, we all look forward to UBU Three.
