It seems some of the reindeer are having problems with Old Saint Nick!  

It's that time of year for holiday cheer and entertainment usually geared for the family.  Well San Diego is blessed to have several groups that will present more of an adult fare of irreverent yet thoroughly entertaining tales.  One of those groups, San Diego's smallest theatre 6^th @ Penn Theatre is offering Jeff Goode's  dark comedy; The Eight:  Reindeer Monologues.  Back by popular demand this smash-hit anti-Christmas pageant is back with a vengeance!  A media frenzy erupts when scandalous allegations are leveled at the North Pole's most prominent resident. As each legendary member of Santa's flying team comes forward to demand its share of the lime-light, a horrific tale of corruption and perversion emerges, implicating everyone from the littlest elf to the tainted Saint himself.  The Eight features Santa's famous reindeer as they break their long-held silence and blow the whistle on the jolly old elf's perversions. Whether it's the star-struck Prancer (a.k.a. "Hollywood"), the manic gay Cupid, the militant feminist Blitzen, or the gang-banging Com et, what they have to say may not be pretty. Hear the Truth! What happened to Vixen? Why is Rudolph in a padded room? What those reindeer really think of Mr. And Mrs. Claus! Each deer has their own story to tell !!!!  When Mrs. Claus is away, Santa will play. Or so say the most famous reindeer of the North Pole.  

It's hysterically funny, strangely moving and thought-provoking; in short, The Eight is a treat for those looking for something other than the usual Holiday theatre fare.  An entertaining jab at all things Christmas. Not for the kiddies or the easily offended, (Children under 17 not admitted without a parent)
