EXT. CAMPBELL RESIDENCE - DAY

Andy and Barney knock at the front door of Otis Campbell's
house. MRS. CAMPBELL comes to the door. She has thick
'Tammy Faye' make up and beestung lips.

                                      ANDY
                          Mrs. Campbell?

                                      MRS. CAMPBELL
                          Otis ain't here.

                                      ANDY
I know that, ma'am. Do you mind if we
                          come in?

                                      MRS. CAMPBELL
                          Suit yourself.

Andy and Barney follow her into the --

INT. CAMPBELL LIVING ROOM - CONTINUOUS

The interior is luxurious, in a squalid sort of way, with
lots of expensive bric-a-brac imported from as far away as
               Mount Pilot.

                                      ANDY
Mrs. Campbell, I don't know any way to
tell you this, except to come right out
                          and say it.

                                      MRS. CAMPBELL
Is Otis in some kind of trouble?

                                      ANDY
Not exactly. You see... Well, Otis
                          passed away this morning.

                                      MRS. CAMPBELL
                                (grimaces)
                          Not again.

                                      ANDY
                          Beg your pardon?

                                      BARNEY
                          He's turned up dead before?

                                      MRS. CAMPBELL
No, but it's always something with that
man. He's either drunk and disorderly,
or drinking and driving, or just plain
stinking drunk. So dead drunk don't
come as no surprise. He was drunk,
                          wasn't he?

                                      ANDY
                          We believe so.

                                      MRS. CAMPBELL
Well, there you go. I better get on
out to the creek and rinse off my black
                          dress.
